Don’t Feed Me, LLC announces Gluten-free, Dairy-free Cookbook

St. Paul, MN – May 1, 2010

Don’t Feed Me, LLC is proud to announce that “Don’t Feed Me – Gluten-free, Dairy-free Cooking” was published in March 2010. The paperback version of “Don’t Feed Me – Gluten-free, Dairy-free Cooking” is available at numerous outlets including Amazon.com,  BarnesandNoble.com, Amazon.com/UKMagpie in Alexandria, MN, Potpourri Health Foods in Willmar, MN and on www.dontfeedme.com.

This cookbook gives the reader the basics of how to cook gluten-free and dairy-free. It is perfect for people starting their journey to a gluten-free, dairy-free lifestyle. The cookbook includes a description of gluten-free ingredients, other labels for gluten and dairy ingredients, an explanation of the dangers of cross-contamination and over 120 recipes from breakfast to breads and main meals to sweets. The cookbook explains how to prepare gluten-free, dairy-free meals that will satisfy everyone from small child to adult. It shows the reader that a gluten-free, dairy-free lifestyle is not impossible nor does it have to be restrictive. Also included in this book is the inspiration for the book – Aivah’s Story. Her story describes how a small infant went from experiencing severe reactions to gluten and dairy to becoming a happy, healthy toddler. Aivah and her family currently live in Glencoe, MN.

Reactions to food allergies can range from hives and diarrhea to anaphylactic shock and death. 1 in 130 people have Celiac disease, which is the body’s allergic reaction to gluten, a protein found in grains such as wheat, barley and rye. 75% of the world’s population cannot eat dairy because they are lactose intolerant or have a Casein allergy. Casein is a protein found in dairy products.  Autism affects 1 in 1000 people and many have seen a drastic improvement by following a strict gluten-free, casein-free diet. For the children whose health, and possibly life, depends on avoiding gluten and dairy, following a gluten-free, dairy-free lifestyle can be a matter of life and death.

Don’t Feed Me, LLC is dedicated to helping children with a variety of food allergies by providing needed information at www.dontfeedme.com, Allergy Alert T-shirts and matching Pins, and the “Don’t Feed Me . . . Gluten-free, Dairy-free Cooking”. Don’t Feed Me, LLC’s owner and president, Joyce Nielsen, has over 30 years of experience in researching and dealing with food allergies and special diets for conditions such as Celiac disease, Autism, Rheumatoid Arthritis, hyperactivity and dairy allergies. She believes in a holistic approach to health that deals with the whole person, rather than treating individual symptoms.
